Add Power, Not Weight
Yamaha’s new four-cylinder, four-stroke F200A and F200B are the lightest 200-hp four stroke on the market. Weighing in at an industry leading 227kg, the F200A and F200B is 50kg lighter than it supersedes, which made it the go-to option for boaters looking to replace smaller horsepower or larger V6 outboards for increased performance and efficiency. Sporting a slim-line cowl, the F200A and F200B is ideal for twin engine applications, which in turn can dramatically reduce overall weight on the transom.
The all-new F200B outboard engine offers the power of the previous F200 V6, but in a smaller, lighter, smarter and more efficient package. The F200A has the same engine as the F200B but come standard with Digital Electronic Control (DEC) and is fully compatible with Yamaha’s ground breaking High Definition Display (6Y9), allowing boaters the ability to actively monitor the critical boat systems and performance of multiple outboards all from the one screen. Both models are YCOP® compatible and can be rigged to external NMEA 2000® compatible displays or analogue gauges using a gateway device.
With an in-line four-cylinder configuration, Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) and weight-saving technology, the new engines produces 200HP while remaining the lightest in its class. Improved fuel-efficiency as well as better performance means the light weight F200A and F200B is suited to a broader range of boats.
Similar to the revolutionary 4.2L V6 outboards, the new F200A and F200B are unbelievably smooth and quiet. Both models come standard with the newly redesigned Reliance Shift Dampener System (SDS), in addition to the newly developed counter balance shafts for vibration-free, quiet boating.
With practicality in mind, the F200A and F200B features a newly designed 50-amp alternator which offers a 13 percent increase in charging power during idle, and the popular Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS) system; allowing fishermen the opportunity to get the most out of their adventures.
The F200A and F200B plays host to a wide range of industry leading options developed by Yamaha, optional features includes the Y-COP (Yamaha Customer Outboard Protection), anti-theft system and tilt-limiter. These features place the F200 inline four firmly alongside Yamaha’s top-of-the-range V6 (4.2L) and V8 Outboards.
Features Command Link® digital gauges (F200XCA, LF200XCA)
Command Link® digital gauges provide accurate, real-time stats on boat systems and operating conditions. Easy to read and designed to withstand the elements, Command Link® digital gauges allow you to accurately monitor everything from engine function and fuel management, to trim levels and battery voltage.
SDS (Shift Dampening System)
Eliminating the 'clunk' sound normally associated with moving between gears, Yamaha's patented Shift Dampener System (SDS) uses a splined aft washer and a splined runner hub to absorb noise, vibration and improve reliability. This carefully engineered solution brings smoother, quieter gear shifts.
Trolling Control
Variable Trolling RPM allows you to fine-tune your trolling speed in 50-RPM increments (between 550 and 1000 RPM depending on the model).
High Output Alternator
With 50 amps of total alternator output, the F200 provides a 13 percent increase in power compared to the V6 F200. Today's boats need more charging power to accommodate the wide variety of on-board electronic devices. The alternator also offers high output at relatively low rpm.
VCT (Variable Camshaft Timing)
Variable Camshaft TIming (VCT) allows the Engine Control MOdule to direct the Variable Camshaft Actuator to advance and retard camshaft timing based on the engine RPM. This increase the intake and exhaust efficiency in the low and mid RPM ranges. The result is an optimal increase in torque in the 2,000 to 3,500 RPM range.
Optimum Performance & Efficiency
Eight different sensors constantly measure vital atmospheric conditions and engine functions to give the Engine Control Module (ECM) the information needed to precisely and instantly adjust the fuel/air mixture for optimum performance and economy.
Corrosion Resistance
Yamaha’s exclusive ACP-221 Paint Process provides a tough, five-layer barrier against corrosion. It’s a key part of our renowned Ultimate Corrosion Protection System, which is standard on all Yamaha High Power Four Stroke Outboards.
