COMMENTS
The Waikare is a well maintained 16.4m semi-displacement aluminium catamaran, powered by twin Caterpillar diesel engines each 385 hp. Used by the harbourmasters team in Northland for pilotage, maintenance of aids to nav, oil spill response work and salvage and towing. Well equipped for dive operations.
Vessel on occasions chartered for a variety of work including film, surveys, testing oil spill booms, dive work.
Throughout its life, periodic upgrades and improvements have been made to keep the vessel systems up to date.
• 2019 both engines reconditioned . Engine rooms were re-insulated.
• All survey and maintenance carried out at required intervals through life of vessel.
