Hot Water System
JNF 38 is a shallow draft cruising cutter from the well known French design team of Joubert, Nivelt and Fricaud. Built in France by the respected steel yacht manufacturer Gilles Voisin, she has a retracting keel whilst the absence of normal bulkheads allows for a spacious, open plan interior.
Her hull shape and wide beam mean that she is a stable and comfortable offshore cruising yacht whilst her shallow draft allows access to remote anchorages.
Ouma is fully equipped for extended passage making, with a Spectra water-maker, and a large bank of batteries, permanently charged by solar and wind generation, which enables the 12V keel-cooled fridge/freezer to run 24/7 without needing to run the 50hp Perkins Diesel engine. Sturdily rigged, with a fully-battened main, mast cars and stack-pack, she has twin furling headsails, Harken primary and secondary winches, and 'Gleistein' Dyneema running rigging. Fully imported to NZ, but also carries UK registration.
